Sanja Stijačić serves as Professor of Flute at the Academy of Music, University of East Sarajevo since 1999 and at the Faculty of Arts in Pristina since 1995. Her three-decade career integrates performance excellence, academic leadership, and cross-disciplinary artistic innovation across Balkan institutions.
Her foundational training includes:
- Primary Music School 'Josip Slavenski' (Novi Sad) under Prof. Đurđica Jurec

Stijačić's artistic research centers on flute performance and chamber music, with deep engagement in folk traditions through children's ensembles and traditional instruments. Recent work pioneers multimedia integration, exemplified by collaborations with theater and sculpture in projects like 'The Departure of Mr. Tome' monodrama and Cetinje Biennial installations.
She has mentored 42 students to graduation by 2017 (34 undergraduates, 8 master's), teaching flute performance, pedagogy, sight reading, and chamber music while periodically chairing the vocal-instrumental department. Her artistic leadership extends to the Montenegrin ensemble 'Anderba' and Bosnian 'SYNERGIJA', alongside roles as artistic selector for Nikšić's International Chamber Music Festival and council member for Sarajevo's 'Koral' festival.
