معرفی
Sanja R. Grguric Sipka is a Full Professor at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Chemistry, where she leads the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the same institution (2003), following undergraduate and master's studies there. Her research focuses on coordination and bioinorganic chemistry, particularly the design of metal complexes for biomedical applications, such as anticancer agents and drug delivery systems.
Her career includes roles as Head of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry (2011–2016 and 2023–present). Key achievements include the 2005 Austria Science Fund Lisa Meitner Fellowship. She actively participates in international collaborations, including Horizon 2020-funded projects like FoodEnTwin (2018–2021) and a National Innovation Project on eco-friendly baby wet wipes (2020–2021).
Her research explores metal complexes' interactions with biomolecules, emphasizing cytotoxicity, DNA binding, and enzyme inhibition. Notable studies include ruthenium(II)-arene complexes' anticancer potential and iron-redox interactions with adrenaline.
