Sandy Friesen is a faculty member at Evangel University, where she has served since 1996, initially as an adjunct professor and transitioning to full-time in 2003. She is the Program Coordinator for Intercultural Studies and serves as Director of Global Connections, playing a key role in missions and global outreach initiatives.
Her academic background includes a Ph.D. from St. Louis University, an MS from Southwest Missouri State, a BS from Evangel University, and a BA from Central Bible College.
Sandy's research and professional interests center on intercultural education, missions, and faith-based global engagement. Her work emphasizes practical integration of Christian leadership with cross-cultural service and business as mission (BAM) strategies.
She is actively involved with the Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM), serving on special executive committees, and contributes to mission strategy through her role as Director of Global Connections. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Aquila Ventures, focusing on Business as Missions (BAM) initiatives.
Sandy is married to Bob Friesen, Director of Research for AGWM, and they have served together in missions, including in South Africa. They have three married children and four grandchildren. An avid traveler, she has visited 60 countries, enriching her intercultural perspective.
