Sandrine Ferré-Rode serves as a Lecturer in American and Canadian Studies at the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) and Director of the Graduate School of Humanities and Heritage Sciences at Paris-Saclay University. She is embedded within the Institute of Cultural and International Studies (IECI), Department of Languages, and affiliated with the Center for the Cultural History of Contemporary Societies (CHCSC) laboratory in Guyancourt, France.
Her research spans four interconnected domains:
- Comparative History of Immigration, Ethnocultural Pluralism, and National Identity Construction in the United States and Canada
- History, Slave Narratives, and Literature of African Americans and African Canadians
- Representations and Memories of Slavery in North America
- History of Books and Publishing in the United States and Canada
Her scholarly output reveals a sustained focus on racial narratives and transnational identity formation, exemplified by her critical 2018 edition of Henry Bibb's slave narrative and comparative analyses of US-Canada relations. This work consistently bridges historical documentation with contemporary cultural memory studies.
