Sandra Trotman

Sandra Trotman, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) within the Department of Education, Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. She mentors students across undergraduate to doctoral levels, serves as a dissertation chair, and advises the Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) Omega Theta chapter. Trotman is also a program reviewer for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and a Lead Reviewer for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

Education:

• Ph.D. in Mathematics Education, University of Waikato, New Zealand

Research Focus: Trotman’s work spans mathematics teaching and learning, curriculum development, gender studies in education, qualitative research methodologies, mentoring, project-based learning, gamification, disability services for college students, service-learning pedagogy, and interdisciplinary STEM education integrating mathematics, literacy, science, and technology.

Advising & Service: She actively mentors Honors students, judges the Honors in Major Symposium, co-chairs the FAMTE Symposium Planning Committee, and contributes as a journal reviewer for the Kappa Delta Pi Educational Forum.
