Sandra Spagnolo

Sandra Spagnolo is a Research Fellow at the University of Gastronomic Sciences (UNISG) in the Agroecology Group. She holds a degree in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies from the University of Turin. Her career spans over two decades in agroecological research, including roles at the Reference Center for Organic Agriculture (CRAB) and collaborations with AIAB Piedmont.

Her research focuses on agroecological practices for soil fertility improvement (cover crops, crop rotations), crop protection via ecological methods, and the conservation of local crop varieties through participatory approaches with farming communities. She actively engages in projects like H2020 HuMUS and RADIANT, emphasizing biodiversity and sustainable agricultural systems.

Major UNISG projects include H2020 HuMUS – Healthy Municipal Soils, RADIANT – ReAlisingDynamIc value chains for underutilised crops, and the Germonte series. Past projects include Mipaf Pro.Fi.La. and GerMais.
