Professor Sandra Hale is a faculty member in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at Washington University. She holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, an MA from the University of California, Riverside, and a BA from the same institution. Her research examines developmental changes in information processing speed across the lifespan and its cascading effects on working memory and reasoning abilities.
Additional research explores how sensory and cognitive abilities influence lip reading and auditory comprehension in diverse populations. Professor Hale is currently in a two-year phased retirement period, during which she continues teaching and completing ongoing research projects.
