Dr Sandra Flynn is a Lecturer in Psychology and Mental Health at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Psychology & Mental Health and the Centre for Mental Health and Safety. With over 20 years of experience, her research focuses on forensic mental health, particularly suicide prevention, familial homicide, and violence within mental health systems. She holds a PhD and MA from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Investigative Psychology from the University of Huddersfield.
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through improving safety in mental health and criminal justice settings. Notable research includes studies on homicide-suicide dynamics, suicide-related internet use among mental health patients, and LGBTQ+ psychological safety in elderly housing.
