Sandra Babcock

Sandra Babcock is a Clinical Professor of Law at Cornell Law School, where she serves as the Faculty Director of the Cornell Center on the Death Penalty Worldwide. She specializes in international human rights litigation, access to justice initiatives, death penalty defense, international gender rights, and the application of international law in U.S. courts.

Babcock's work focuses on addressing systemic injustices in global penal systems. She pioneered the Malawi Resentencing Project, which led to the release of over 250 prisoners (140 death row inmates) through clinical teaching initiatives. Her advocacy spans cases before the International Court of Justice, Inter-American Court on Human Rights, and multiple U.S. state Supreme Courts.
