Prof Dr Sander Onderstal is Head of Studies for Economics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), coordinating the Economics & Business major within the PPLE programme. He joined UvA's Economics and Business department in 2004, drawn by its research environment and the Netherlands' largest Economics lab. His research focuses on auctions, cartels, and behavioral economics. He teaches core courses like 'Economics for a Better World' and emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to address societal challenges. Onderstal actively engages with students, valuing their diverse perspectives in discussions about policy interventions. His work bridges academic research and practical policy, exemplified by contributions to antitrust policy design and experimental market mechanisms.
