Samuel Zaruba is a Lecturer in Business Analytics at the Douglas J. Von Allmen School of Accountancy and affiliated with the Center for Data Analytics at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, University of Kentucky. He holds a PhD from the University of Nevada, where his research was conducted through their Center for Cybersecurity.

Zaruba’s research and teaching focus on interdisciplinary applications of data analytics in governance, policy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and auditing. He bridges academic scholarship with practical consulting experience across technology, finance, healthcare, and government sectors, including collaborations with the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Fortune 500 companies like Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
He has taught undergraduate and graduate-level coursework and spent over a decade advising organizations on IT risk management and data analytics strategies. His work spans public and private institutions, including financial organizations, public energy utilities, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
