Prof. Samuel P. Baumgartner holds the Chair of Civil Procedure Law, Comparative Civil Procedure Law, Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law, Private Law, and Mediation at the University of Zurich's Faculty of Law. He serves as President of the Institute for Civil Procedure, an association promoting procedural law education and practice. His research focuses on Swiss and comparative civil procedure law, debt enforcement mechanisms, and bankruptcy frameworks.
Publications include the 11th edition of Swiss Civil Procedure Law (Stämpfli) and the 8th edition of Panels on Debt Collection and Bankruptcy Law (Schulthess). He co-edited the 24th APARIUZ anthology on trial procedures, published as open access.
