Samuel Mensah

Dr. Samuel Mensah is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Physics and Materials Science at the University of Memphis. He coordinates instructional laboratories and focuses on enhancing teaching and learning experiences. Previously, he served as a Lab Coordinator at Missouri State University. His research interests include semiconductor nanomaterials, biomaterials, carbon nanotubes, device fabrication, plasma diagnostics, solar energy materials, and cold spray.

Dr. Mensah holds a Ph.D. in Microelectronics and Photonics from the University of Arkansas, an M.S. from Michigan Technological University, an M.Phil from the University of Cambridge (UK), and a BSc (Hons) from the University of Cape Coast.

His research emphasizes plasma-based material synthesis and semiconductor nanomaterials. Recent publications explore plasma diagnostics during magnetron sputtering, hydrogen-assisted silicon deposition, and nanowire fabrication via epitaxy. His work bridges fundamental material science with practical applications in energy and electronics.
