Samuel John

Samuel John is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center and serves as an Attending Physician at the Gill Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. His clinical and research focus includes pediatric blood cancers, cellular therapy, and cancer immunotherapy. He leads the CAR T-Cell Therapy Program, overseeing joint efforts between UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center.

Education: Medical degree from Albany Medical College, residency in pediatrics at UT Southwestern, and fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center.

Research interests emphasize developing novel CAR T-cell therapies for AML, pediatric and adult solid tumors, and advancing immunotherapies for blood cancers. Collaborating with Alec Zhang, Dr. John aims to translate lab innovations into clinical trials, including therapies targeting AML and solid tumors.

He is the Principal Investigator for pediatric cell therapy trials in leukemia and solid tumors. His work bridges translational research and clinical care, focusing on improving outcomes for pediatric cancer patients.
