Samuel Jaques is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization at the University of Waterloo (since 2023). His research focuses on cryptography (particularly privacy/anonymity) and quantum computing, with notable work on quantum algorithms for cryptanalysis and the Landscapes of Quantum Computing blog. He completed a PhD at the University of Oxford and holds degrees from the University of Waterloo and University of Regina.
