Samuel J. Redman is a Professor of History and Director of the Public History Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He specializes in U.S. social, cultural, and intellectual history, with a focus on museums, anthropology, and the intersections of memory and cultural heritage. He holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Morris, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Redman’s research explores the history of museums, salvage anthropology, and the ethical dimensions of collecting human remains. His publications include three acclaimed books: *Bone Rooms* (2016), *Prophets and Ghosts* (2021), and *The Museum* (2022).
