Samuel Galloway

Samuel Galloway is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Purchase College (SUNY). He specializes in political theory, focusing on democracy, sovereignty, and solidarity, with interdisciplinary engagement in Gender Studies and Global Black Studies. His research includes a book manuscript, Cruising Politics: Affect, Assemblage, Agonism, analyzing 21st-century politics through queer critical theory. He collaborates on an edited volume on Lauren Berlant’s legacy. Teaching courses span political theory, media, protest, and intersectional analysis. Educated at Purchase College (BA), University of Chicago (MA, PhD), he advises on political responses to despair and integrates activism into scholarly work. Office hours are Thursdays 2:30–4:00 PM.
