Samuel F. Hopkins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Howard University, Washington, DC, USA. His research focuses on algebraic and enumerative combinatorics, with an emphasis on poset theory, lattice structures, and root systems. He joined Howard University in 2021 after completing an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Minnesota (2018-2021), where he worked under Vic Reiner, and earning a PhD from MIT in 2018 under Alex Postnikov.
His recent research explores upho lattices, Ehrhart theory, and toggling dynamics in posets. He actively participates in mathematical workshops and conferences, such as the BIRS workshop on lattice theory and the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Washington, DC. As a moderator on MathOverflow, he contributes to academic discourse and community building in mathematics.
