معرفی
Dr. Samuel C Boone is a Research Fellow in the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences at the University of Adelaide, Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. He also leads the Melbourne Thermochronology Research Group at the University of Melbourne, specializing in fission track and (U-Th)/He analyses of minerals like apatite, zircon, and titanite.
Research Interests
His work focuses on quantifying Earth's thermal and tectonic history through continental breakup and supercontinent assembly. Key themes include rifting mechanisms, landscape evolution, and the interplay between tectonics, climate, and resources, particularly in Gondwana's dispersal over the last 200 million years.
Projects & Collaborations
- Co-developer of AusGeochem, a FAIR data platform for geoscience Big Data.
- Collaborates with Associate Professor Stijn Glorie (Adelaide) and Prof. Alan Collins/Dr. Morgan Blades on Neoproterozoic East African Orogen tectonics.
- Develops laboratory techniques (fission track, (U-Th)/He) for crustal thermal evolution studies.
