Samira van Bohemen

Samira van Bohemen is an Associate Professor at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Erasmus University Rotterdam. A cultural sociologist specializing in identity, sexuality, and social inequality, she leads the interdisciplinary Erasmus Love Lab and serves on the board of the Netherlands Sociological Association (NSV).

Her research uniquely emphasizes pleasure, analyzing how social groups experience pleasurable activities and their links to identity, inequality, and power. She holds a Senior University Teaching Qualification from RISBO and has secured major funding like the NWO Vidi grant for her work on pornographic stereotypes and a Dutch Research Agenda Consortium Grant to combat sexually transgressive behavior.
