Samir SAOUDI is a Full Professor and Head of the Mathematical and Electrical Engineering Department at IMT Atlantique since 2021. Previously, he served as Head of the Signal & Communications Department (2014-2020) and the Digital Communications Group of LabSticc (2008-2014). He joined IMT Atlantique in 1997 after roles at Telecom Bretagne and Orange Lab. His research focuses on MIMO systems, stochastic geometry, and wireless networks, with over 150 publications. He has supervised over 30 PhD students and holds IEEE Senior membership and the Chevalier dans l’ordre des palmes académiques.
Education: Baccalauréat in Mathematics (1982), classes préparatoires (1982-1984), Telecom Bretagne (1987, Master’s equivalent), PhD in Telecommunications (1990), HDR (1997).
Research Interests: Speech and audio coding, MIMO systems, iterative processing, stochastic geometry for 5G/6G, multi-user detection. Teaching areas include signal processing and probability.
Leadership and Awards: Board member of IMT since 2006, General Chair of IEEE ISIVC 2004, IEEE Senior (2009), Chevalier des Palmes Académiques (2009).
Grants and Contracts: Multiple research contracts with Orange-Labs. Active in organizing conferences and reviewing for top journals.
Labs and Teams: Part of LabSticc (CNRS UMR 6385), involved in collaborative projects with international institutions.
