Samia Hesni is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Boston University. They hold a PhD from MIT and specialize in feminist philosophy, social/political philosophy, and philosophy of language. Their research examines how language shapes power dynamics through normative generics, presupposition, and non-literal speech. Current projects include social scripts and cooperative disruption, with future work exploring kindness in social movements.
Core faculty in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, Hesni’s work intersects ethics, linguistics, and social justice.
