Dr. Sami Ansari is the Dean of the Maguire Meservey College of Health and Human Services at Salem State University. He joined the university in 2010 and has held key positions including Chair of the Criminal Justice Department and Interim Dean. Prior to academia, he accumulated over 12 years of experience as a Deputy Police Chief and Police Chief in India, served as a human rights officer for the United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNMIBH), and worked as a Policy Analyst for the Boston Police Department's Office of Research and Development.

- Graduate degree in Public Policy and Management, University of Syracuse and IIMB
- Master of Arts in Political Science, Allahabad University

Dr. Ansari's scholarly work focuses on crime measurement methodologies, policing systems, comparative criminal justice frameworks, racial/social justice dynamics, quantitative data analysis techniques, and neighborhood criminology theories.
