Assoc Prof Sameer Alam is an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and Director of the Air Traffic Management Research Institute (ATMRI), a joint initiative with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. He leads a research team of 26 scientists and 6 PhD students, focusing on developing intelligent air traffic management systems. His expertise spans AI applications in ATM, human-AI teamwork, and deep reinforcement learning. Alam holds a PhD in Computer Science from UNSW Australia (2008) and has held academic roles including Senior Lecturer at UNSW Canberra. He has served as a visiting scientist at NASA Ames and École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile. His research has garnered prestigious awards, including the ANU Science Medal and multiple Best Paper Awards.
