Dr. Samantha Nousak is a Research Fellow (Postdoctoral Research Associate) in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Kent State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology with a concentration in Social Psychology (2023), an M.A. in Sociology (2020), and a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Psychology (2018), all from Kent State University.
Her research examines the intersection of economic factors and health outcomes, with emphases on disability advocacy, mental health, substance use, and community wellness. She extends sociological frameworks like Fundamental Cause Theory to holistic health and champions disability representation in academia. Her work includes collaborations on public policy grants addressing health disparities.
Recent publications focus on pandemic-era disability challenges, mental health interventions, and pedagogical innovations in sociology. Her articles consistently explore themes of social equity, theoretical advancements in health sociology, and community-based solutions.
