Roles & Affiliations: Dr. Samantha J. Anthony holds the position of Associate Professor (status only) at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, and is a Health Scientist at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She is cross-appointed to the Institute for Medical Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine. As a clinician, she works within the Transplant and Regenerative Medicine Centre at SickKids, focusing on psychosocial assessments and interventions for pediatric patients undergoing transplantation.
Education: Ph.D., University of Toronto.
Research Focus: Her research centers on enhancing psychosocial adaptation and quality of life for children with chronic illnesses, particularly those undergoing solid organ transplantation. Key methodologies include patient-reported outcomes, mixed methods, and implementation science. She leads studies on equitable access to transplantation, including projects targeting Chinese Canadian communities and Indigenous peoples. Her work also explores family experiences, post-traumatic growth, and the biopsychosocial impacts of chronic disease.
