Samantha BIELEN is a Senior Lecturer at Hasselt University's Faculty of Business Economics, Department of Economics, and member of the Economics and Policy Management research group. She serves as Vice-Chair of the ECO Professional Group Council and coordinates courses like Advanced Econometrics and Policy Project.

Her research spans litigation, defensive medicine, consumer behavior, and goal-based regulatory regimes. Notable scientific awards include five FWO Research Travel Grants for collaboration with Washington and Lee University (2015-2018).
