Samantha Airo

Samantha Airo is a Lecturer in the Didactics of Social Sciences department at the University of Trier's Faculty III, holding a dual affiliation with the Geography and its Didactics department since April 2024. Her academic background includes studies in History, German Studies, and Educational Sciences, culminating in secondary school teacher certification from Trier Teacher Training College/TDS Daun. Prior to this role, she served as a primary school teacher and class leader for several years.

• Research Focus: Early historical learning integration in subject teaching, digital memory culture methodologies, DDR/BRD history education, and student preconceptions in history classrooms.
• Teaching Activities 2024-2025: Courses include 'Foundations of Subject Teaching', 'Roman Era Studies in Education', 'Biodiversity & Sustainability', and 'Gender Studies in Primary Education'.
