Samantha A. Price

Samantha A. Price is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Clemson University’s College of Science. She focuses on macroevolutionary patterns and processes governing biodiversity, integrating evolutionary biology, paleobiology, and data science.

• Education: Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Virginia; B.A. (Oxon) in Biological Sciences from Oxford University (UK).

Her research investigates global-scale biodiversity patterns over long timescales, particularly in teleost fishes and mammals. Using museum collections, published literature, and databases, she generates ecomorphological datasets and applies phylogenetic comparative methods in high-performance computing frameworks. Recent projects include NSF-funded studies on teleost body form diversity and mammalian diet evolution.

Her publications highlight interdisciplinary expertise in evolutionary ecology, computational biology, and trait-based modeling.
