Sam Schwartz

Sam Schwartz serves as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where he actively drives interdisciplinary research initiatives and advocates for systemic change in academic evaluation frameworks.

His research spans three core domains: interdisciplinary software development collaborations across disciplines like Biology and Music; the MARS (Mapping & Analyzing Research Software) project investigating research software ecosystems; and student entrepreneurship mentorship for tech-based business ventures. Schwartz champions replacing traditional teaching/research/service faculty evaluation with a Knowledge-Opportunity-Stewardship model emphasizing mentorship and institutional trust-building.
