Sam Harrison

Dr. Sam Harrison is a Research Fellow in the Electronic and Electrical Engineering department at the University of Strathclyde's Faculty of Engineering. His work focuses on modern power systems integration with renewable energy sources, specializing in grid-forming and grid-following converter technologies.

His research interests center on power system stability in converter-dominated networks, with expertise in:

• Frequency stability and inertial response mechanisms
• Multiport power converter applications for distribution networks
• Small-signal modeling for sub-synchronous oscillation analysis
• Grid-forming converter resilience engineering
• Techno-economic assessment of smart grid technologies

Harrison's publication portfolio demonstrates consistent focus on power converter control dynamics and renewable integration challenges.
