Salla Aldrin Salskov is a postdoctoral researcher in minority studies at Åbo Akademi University (Finland) and holds the title of docent in gender studies. She defended her PhD dissertation in Philosophy, Epistemic Habits in Queer and Feminist Theory (2022), with external examiners Toril Moi (Duke University) and Rita Felski (University of Virginia). Currently, she is a visiting scholar at The Center for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP, Kingston University, London).

Her research synthesizes queer and feminist theory with Wittgensteinian philosophy and psychoanalysis, interrogating epistemic habits, testimonial injustice, and ethics in knowledge production. She explores how intersectional feminism navigates theoretical, political, and ethical investments in academia and activism.
Recent publications include chapters in Philosophical Conversations: Essays for Hugo Strandberg (2025) and contributions to journals like Sexualities, Social Epistemology, and NORA – Nordic Journal of Feminist and Gender Research. As co-editor of Feminist Encounters and Springer’s Ethical Inquiries After Wittgenstein (2022), she shapes discourse in feminist and queer epistemology.
Scientific Awards:
- Senator Julius Nummelin’s award for best master’s thesis in social sciences (2009).
- Årets forskarspris (Researcher of the Year) at Åbo Akademi University (2023).
She has guest lectured at Duke University, University of East Anglia, Sorbonne University, and Appalachian State University, and organized workshops on polarization, pedagogy, and recovery narratives. Her peer-review work spans journals like Theory and Philosophical Investigations.
