Salim LAHOUD

Dr. Salim LAHOUD is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal. He is affiliated with the CRCHUM research center and the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM). His research focuses on glaucoma treatment innovations and diabetic retinopathy screening using artificial intelligence. He holds significant leadership roles, including former Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at CHUM (2006-2022).

• Education: MD from Saint Joseph University (Lebanon), Residency at Université de Montréal, Fellowship in Ocular Pathology at McGill University.
• Awards: Includes the Canadian Ophthalmological Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award (2024), EOUM Annual Prize (2023), and Professor of the Year (2000).
• Roles: Clinical teaching in cataract surgery, President of the Association of Ophthalmologists of Quebec, and Medical Expert for the Collège des Médecins du Québec.
