Salil Kanhere

Professor Salil Kanhere is a faculty member at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), holding the position of Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering. He specializes in Cyber-Physical Systems, IoT, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, and Machine Learning. He received his MS and PhD from Drexel University, USA, and has held visiting positions at institutions like TU Darmstadt and I2R Singapore.

His research focuses on secure IoT architectures, blockchain applications in cyber-physical systems, and adversarial machine learning. He is affiliated with UNSW's Institute of Cybersecurity (IFCYBER) and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Ad Hoc Networks Journal. He has authored over 270 conference papers, 160 journal articles, and a seminal book on Blockchain for Cyberphysical Systems.

Notable awards include the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award (2020) and Humboldt Research Fellowship (2014). He is a Senior Member of IEEE/ACM and has led organizing committees for major conferences like IEEE PerCom and IPSN.
