Salem AlJanah is an Honorary Research Fellow in Systems and Software Security at the Department of Computer Science, University of Manchester, and concurrently serves as Assistant Professor at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, his research focuses on IoT security, applied cryptography, and secure communications.
His primary research interests include:
- Authentication and key management systems
- Cryptographic applications in IoT
- Network security architectures
- Secure communication protocols for distributed systems
Dr. AlJanah received the Steve Furber Medal for his doctoral work on IoT authentication frameworks. He mentors graduate students in cybersecurity and collaborates internationally on IoT security solutions.
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on optimizing authentication mechanisms for IoT environments, developing intrusion detection systems against AI-generated threats, and implementing blockchain solutions for secure electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
