Sajani Basnayake

Sajani Basnayake is an Instructor in the School of Molecular Sciences at Arizona State University (ASU), where she has been teaching since Fall 2022. Her roles include instructing General Chemistry recitations and laboratory courses in Organic Chemistry. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Dallas (2015) and a BSc in Chemistry (Honors) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka (2008). Prior to joining ASU, she taught Chemistry at the University of Peradeniya and the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Her educational background and professional experience emphasize Chemistry education and laboratory instruction. While her primary focus is on teaching, her expertise spans foundational and organic chemistry, reflecting her contributions to STEM education at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
