Dr. Saiqa Muneer is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Chemistry & Physics, Faculty of Science, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences (QUT, 2021), an M.Phil. in Pharmaceutics (University of Lahore, Pakistan), and a Pharm.D. in Pharmacy (Bahauddin Zakariya University, Pakistan). Her research focuses on nanomaterials and biosensors for biomolecule detection, particularly using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), and drug delivery systems like dry powder inhalers for pulmonary administration. She also develops field-deployable SERS methods for illicit drug detection in complex matrices.
Her key projects include the development of novel nanoformulations and nanosensors for biomedical applications, optimizing inhaler formulations for drugs like ibuprofen and edoxaban, and creating plasmonic substrates for sensitive biomarker detection. Collaborative work with colleagues has yielded advancements in therapeutic drug monitoring (e.g., edoxaban for coagulopathy management in COVID-19) and anti-TNF-α drug analysis.
Dr. Muneer’s articles primarily address drug delivery mechanisms, nanoparticle synthesis, and SERS-based sensing technologies. Her work bridges analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, and biomedical engineering, with applications in clinical diagnostics and personalized medicine. She has no listed scientific awards but maintains active research collaborations within QUT and globally.
