Roles & Affiliations
Sai-Kee Yeung is a Professor of Mathematics at Purdue University's Department of Mathematics, part of the College of Science. He has held teaching roles, including MA166 and MA265 in Spring 2024, and leads the Geometric Analysis Seminar (2022-2023).
Education
- Bachelor of Science, University of Hong Kong
- PhD in Mathematics, Columbia University
Research Interests
Yeung focuses on Complex Geometry, Differential Geometry, Several Complex Variables, and Algebraic Geometry. His work explores topics like fake projective planes, hyperbolicity, and arithmetic groups, with applications to moduli spaces and geometric analysis.
Scientific Awards
- Sloan Research Fellow
- Fellow, American Mathematical Society
- JMSJ Outstanding Paper Prize (2013) for 'Non-existence of arithmetic fake compact Hermitian symmetric spaces'
Key Contributions
Yeung's research includes foundational work on fake projective planes, geometric superrigidity, and hyperbolicity of complex manifolds. He has contributed to understanding arithmetic structures in locally symmetric spaces and the geometry of moduli spaces. His recent work extends to Carathéodory hyperbolicity and symplectic 4-manifolds.
