Safa Çelebi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Education, Ondokuz Mayıs University. Previously, they served as a research assistant at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University (2014–2017) and a Turkish language instructor at the National Kazakh Girls Pedagogy University in Kazakhstan (2022–2025). Their academic journey includes a BSc in Turkish Education from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (2005–2009), an MSc in Turkish Education from the same university (2012), and a PhD in Turkish Education from Atatürk University (2012–2017).
Dr. Çelebi’s research focuses on teaching Turkish as a foreign language, prosody in speech, reading fluency, pronunciation pedagogy, and Turkish dictionary evaluation. They have conducted extensive studies on the effectiveness of visual feedback activities in improving L2 oral reading skills, the role of prosody in persuasive speech, and comparative analyses of Turkish dictionaries’ word stress systems.
Publications highlight their contributions to understanding learners’ perception of emotional utterances, the impact of game-based activities on phonetic accuracy, and the evaluation of Turkish language textbooks’ prosody teaching approaches. Their work bridges theoretical linguistics with practical pedagogy, emphasizing evidence-based teaching strategies.
