Saeed Teebi serves as the 2024-25 Writer-in-Residence at Western University, formally affiliated with the Department of English and Writing Studies within the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. Based in Toronto, he holds weekly office hours for one-on-one consultations with members of both the Western University community and greater London area to discuss creative writing projects.
Teebi specializes in literary fiction and creative non-fiction with particular focus on Palestinian identity, diaspora experiences, and contemporary social narratives. His work demonstrates sophisticated literary craftsmanship while addressing complex cultural and political themes through personal storytelling lenses. The intersection of legal perspective (from his background as a lawyer) and creative expression forms a distinctive element in his narrative approach.
His acclaimed debut short story collection has received significant recognition:
- Finalist for the Atwood Gibson Writers' Trust Prize

- Title story "Her First Palestinian" was a CBC Short Story Award finalist
Currently developing a personal non-fiction work titled "You Will Not Kill Our Imagination" alongside a novel project, Teebi actively mentors emerging writers through structured consultations requiring advance submission of writing samples.
