معرفی
Prof. Dr. Sadettin CALIŞKAN is a distinguished Professor of Physiology at Uskudar University's Faculty of Medicine, where he conducts research and teaches in the Department of Physiology. With over four decades of academic experience, he has established himself as a leading researcher in oxidative stress, respiratory physiology, and electromagnetic field effects on biological systems, with an h-index of 15 and 915 total citations.
Dr. CALIŞKAN received his Licence in Biology from Atatürk University in 1977, followed by his medical specialty training in Physiology in 1981. He completed his Doctorate in Physiology at Atatürk University in 1984, became an Associate Professor in 1987, and was promoted to Professor at Süleyman Demirel University in 1994. His academic career has spanned multiple prestigious Turkish universities before his current appointment at Uskudar University.
His primary research interests focus on oxidative stress mechanisms, respiratory diseases, exercise physiology interventions, electromagnetic field biological effects, and hemispheric asymmetry. His work frequently examines how environmental factors like air pollution and electromagnetic radiation impact physiological systems, with special attention to oxidative stress pathways across multiple organ systems.
Dr. CALIŞKAN's publication record demonstrates consistent research productivity spanning over 35 years, with recent work focusing on fructose metabolism effects on brain function, electromagnetic field impacts on reproductive health, exercise interventions for metabolic disorders, and systemic oxidative stress in various disease states. His research shows particular strength in animal models and translational approaches to understanding human physiology.

Throughout his career, Dr. CALIŞKAN has served as principal investigator for multiple research projects, including studies on metabolic syndrome, electromagnetic field effects, and exercise physiology interventions. He has held significant administrative positions including Department Chair at Pamukkale University and Educational Coordination roles at Süleyman Demirel University. Currently, he teaches both undergraduate and doctoral courses in physiology while continuing active research in his specialized fields.
