Sachin Majumdar Jr. is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology) and Director of the Endocrine Neoplasia Program at Yale School of Medicine. He also leads the Active Surveillance Program for Low-Risk Papillary Thyroid Cancer. His clinical expertise focuses on thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and pituitary disorders, emphasizing non-surgical management of small thyroid cancers through active surveillance. Dr. Majumdar holds appointments in the Department of Medicine and is affiliated with the Endocrine Cancers Program and Yale Cancer Center.
He completed his MD at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry (2004) and BS at Cornell University (1998). His postdoctoral training includes a residency and fellowships in Endocrinology at the University of Virginia and Yale.
Research interests include thyroid cancer management, hypertriglyceridemia, and medical education. His work explores clinical outcomes of thyroid surveillance protocols and complications of diabetes therapies like SGLT2 inhibitors. He has published extensively on adrenal disorders, lipid metabolism, and endocrine emergencies.
Notable awards include multiple Teacher of the Year recognitions from Bridgeport Hospital and the Manchester Scholarship (2001). He actively contributes to professional organizations like the Endocrine Society and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
Dr. Majumdar’s clinical innovations include multidisciplinary strategies to reduce hypoglycemia-related mortality and improving diagnostic approaches for ectopic thyroid tissue and adrenal pathologies.
