Sachiko Kusukawa is a Professor of History of Science at the University of Cambridge (from 2015) and a Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge (since 1997). She has held visiting positions at institutions including Princeton’s Institute of Advanced Study and Ludwig Maximilian Universität München, and has been affiliated with the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science.

- Historical analysis of visual and graphic methods in early modern science (1450–1650)
- Transformation of scientific diagrams and figures in astronomy
- Visual culture of the early Royal Society
- Medical illustration and intellectual history, exemplified by the 2014 online exhibition Vivitur ingenio on Andreas Vesalius
