Sabrina Sauer

Dr. Sabrina Sauer is an Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer in Media Studies at the Faculty of Arts, University of Groningen. She holds roles such as Coordinator of MA/Digital Humanities programs (2019-2022), BA Media Studies Coordinator (2022-2023), and Board Member of the Netherlands Graduate School of Science, Technology, and Modern Culture (WTMC). Her research focuses on Science and Technology Studies, Digital Humanities, and serendipity in search practices. Key projects include the DISCERN project (2021-2022) and CLARIAH initiatives. Awards include the NRO Comenius Fellowship (2025) and the TAG SoTL Scholarship (2023). Her work bridges interdisciplinary collaboration and pedagogical innovation, emphasizing user-centered approaches in digital media research.

Research Interests: Sabrina’s work explores intersections of technology and media through lenses like serendipity in search algorithms, co-creation methodologies, and digital heritage preservation. She investigates how digital tools shape academic and creative practices, particularly in education and cultural heritage contexts.
