Sabrina Pauli is an Assistant Professor (Junior Professor) at the Technical University of Darmstadt in the Department of Mathematics. She holds a PhD (2020) from the University of Oslo, supervised by Paul Arne Østvær and Kirsten Wickelgren, with prior academic positions at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf and Universität Duisburg-Essen.
Her research centers on A1-homotopy theory (motivic homotopy theory), with applications to enumerative geometry using tropical methods. Key interests include:
- Quadratically enriched invariants for curve counting
- Tropical-geometric correspondence theorems
- Equivariant parametrized cohomology computations
- Dynamic Euler numbers in algebraic geometry
- A1-contractibility of algebraic varieties
Her publications demonstrate strong focus on arithmetic enrichment of classical enumerative problems, leveraging tools from motivic homotopy theory and tropical geometry to define invariants over arbitrary fields. Recent work emphasizes computational aspects and equivariant generalizations.
She advises PhD student Nathan Tiggemann (started 2024) and leads a research group studying equivariant parametrized cohomology. She has taught courses including Algebraic Topology, Topology, and Algebra at TU Darmstadt and partner institutions.
