Sabrina Maniscalco

Sabrina Maniscalco is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Helsinki. She serves as a supervisor for doctoral programs in Particle Physics and Universe Sciences, Computer Science, and Philosophy, Arts, and Society. Her research focuses on quantum physics, quantum information science, and quantum technologies with applications in complex networks and education. She has been actively involved in high-impact projects such as the Finnish Quantum Flagship (QTF) and QTIndu, advancing quantum technologies and their industrial applications.

Her research interests include quantum complex networks, quantum state transfer, quantum measurement theory, and quantum pedagogy through educational games. She has contributed to experimental protocols for entanglement detection and variational methods for quantum state preparation on noisy devices. Her work bridges theoretical advancements with practical implementations in quantum computing and communication systems.

Maniscalco leads or participates in multiple funded projects, including the Academy of Finland’s QTF Centre of Excellence (2023–2025) and the EU-funded DigiQ initiative (2022–2026), which aim to enhance quantum education and industry collaboration. She has also reviewed doctoral theses and contributed to academic committees, reflecting her leadership in both research and academia.
