Sabrina Forster is an Academic Advisor at Saarland University's Institute for Sports and Preventive Medicine, where she has been working since 2024 after serving as a Research Associate from 2009 to 2024. She also holds an appointment as Honorary Associate at the University of Technology Sydney since 2018.
Her research focuses on critical areas in sports science including regeneration management in elite sports, sleep patterns in competitive athletes, sex-specific physiological responses, and general exercise physiology. Current research projects examine sex-specific adaptation differences (SAD) and the SleepTrain project investigating how training schedules impact sleep quality and recovery in competitive swimmers.
Dr. Forster teaches specialized courses for sports science students including 'Recovery management in elite sports' and 'Training the endurance athlete' for the M.Sc. High Performance Sport program during winter semester, and 'Applied Exercise Physiology' for undergraduate sports science students during summer semester.
