Sabir Umarov is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Physics at the University of New Haven’s College of Arts and Sciences. His research spans fractional calculus, stochastic differential equations, and nonextensive statistical mechanics. He can be reached at sumarov@newhaven.edu in his office at Maxcy Hall 313.
- Spring 2025 Teaching: MATH 1118 Calculus II, MATH 2203 Calculus III
- Office Hours: MW 11am-12pm (by appointment)
Research Interests: His work focuses on fractional and pseudo-differential equations with singular symbols, fractional generalizations of the Duhamel principle, and stochastic processes linked to fractional Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equations. He explores time-changed stochastic processes, Caputo-Djrbashian/Riemann-Liouville derivatives, and complex Fourier transform applications.
Publications: Recent books include Mathematical Foundations of Nonextensive Statistical Mechanics (2022), Fractional Duhamel Principle (2019), and Introduction to Fractional and Pseudo-Differential Equations with Singular Symbols (2015). These works address entropy generalizations, fractional dynamics, and advanced mathematical tools for complex systems.
Service: He contributes to editorial boards of Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis and Fractional Differential Calculus.
