Dr. Sabine Österle is a Lecturer at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) at ETH Zurich, affiliated with the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB). Her research focuses on semantic web technologies, knowledge graphs, health data management, and FAIR data principles. She leads strategic initiatives such as the Semantic Interoperability Strategy and FAIR Data Team at the Swiss Personalized Health Network Data Coordination Center (SPHN DCC).
Education: PhD (2013–2017), MSc (2010–2012), and BSc (2008–2010) in Interdisciplinary Science from ETH Zurich. Professional roles include Team Lead for Data Interoperability (2020–2023) and Scientific Project Manager/Coordinator roles at SIB (2018–2020).
Awards include the SIB Remarkable Output 2022 and recognition in the top Swiss research of 2014/15. She is actively involved in advancing data interoperability and FAIR practices in biomedical research.
