Sabine Ludwigs

Prof. Dr. Sabine Ludwigs leads the Institute of Polymer Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart's Faculty of Chemistry. Her research advances functional polymer systems for electronic and photonic applications, with emphases on electrochemical doping, nanostructured materials, and organic electronics.

Her group develops novel conjugated polymers, block copolymer templates, and switchable optical materials. Recent work explores conductivity tuning in n-type semiconductors, redox-active nanoporous architectures, and laser-fabricated conductive nanostructures with implications for energy devices and sensors.

Publications demonstrate consistent innovation in controlling polymer morphology and electronic properties. Research spans organic photovoltaics, catalytic systems within confined environments, and stimuli-responsive polymer devices.

Collaborations include partners across Germany and internationally in materials science, physics, and engineering disciplines.
